POINT COMMUNITY FELLOWSHIP
Point Community is the youth fellowship of the Chapel of the Holy Spirit.
We are a community existing as a meeting POINT for youths to get to know and love God, His Word; to grow in fellowship and mature in faith. Then to POINT others to the saving work of grace that Jesus Christ did on the cross for all Mankind.
We seek to achieve this by establishing deep relationships with one another, through regular fellowship, outings and games.
The seven arrows contain the ethos of Point Community.
1. Strong in the Word: We believe that young people should be strong in the knowledge of the Word of God, being able to use it well and faithfully living out its truths.
2. Earnest in Worship: We believe that young people should worship God in spirit and truth. With a variety of expressions of worship, rather than being limited to what is considered ‘hip’, ‘current’ or ‘contemporary’.
3. Loving toward each other: We believe that Christ’s command to love one another is not an ideal but one that requires active obedience. While it is not a simple task, we do our best in speech and action to be a community that builds up its members and encourages right Christian lifestyles.
4. Committed to one another: We believe that relationships were meant to be lasting and that such relationships take time and effort to nurture. We also believe that the grace of God enables us to be patient with each other and allows us to grow together.
5. Ready to serve: We believe that God adds to our number those He intends for the building up of the community and that everyone has a role to play. We exist to help each other find where each of us fits in so that we can discover and fully utilize the gifts and talents that God has given to us.
6. Ready to disciple: We believe that it is the task of every believer, young and old, to help each other grow in faith and become more faithful in our walk with God. Jesus commands us to make disciples even as we live out of Christian faith.
7. Bold in reaching out: We believe that, in conjunction with discipleship, young people should be bold in reaching out to those who have not heard the good news of Salvation through Jesus Christ. We believe that it is God’s will that every man, woman and child have the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel in this lifetime.
